UK Theatre Network are supporting the
casting of children in the West End. The following Casting
Information has been provided by the Youth Administrator. Please

Casting Information
Please read the info below. Please make suggestions on
separate emails
for each show with the name of the child, dob, age, height and
area in which they live i.e their education authority. No photos
required except for THE LION KING. Please note in all cases boys
must have unbroken voices and girls must be
undeveloped.
I am unable to help anyone who is too tall or too old for any of
these productions and I do not cast adults or have any
information about adult casting. So sorry but time does not
permit a response to email outside the limits set out
below.
All suggestions welcome for all of the shows below providing the
children fit the criteria – if they do not I am unable to see
them. So sorry but all shows are very specific and the criteria
are all there for very good reasons.

URGENT
THE SOUND OF MUSIC UK TOUR
The show is touring for a year or two and casting will be
ongoing. We will be auditioning in the Spring and all children
must be commutable to London although they will all tour with
chaperones and a tutor. We do not tour parents. Children are aged
6 – 13 and are under 5 foot – boys have unbroken voices and girls
are undeveloped.
However .................. we are looking immediately for two
girls – these will be swing children – assigned to a team and
they will do scheduled performances as either Marta or Brigitta
from as soon as we can make it work until July. They must be
under 133cms tall, great singers and actresses, bright, fair
skinned and 7 – 9 years old. They must come from the London area
or at least close enough to reach the meeting point (a mainline
station or Heathrow). We will audition these as soon as I have
enough children to make it worthwhile. Children play three days
on and six off and are chaperoned and tutored. This is
URGENT.
NOT SO URGENT
LES MISERABLES UK TOUR
Norwich Birmingham and Edinburgh.
We are looking for girls to perform locally in all venues. We are
looking for a boy to perform in Edinburgh and tour. They all play
on a rota and our touring boys come home whenever
possible.
Gavroche aged about 10 under 4‘ 7 really good acting and singing
required.
Cosette under 4‘ 4, fair skin, sweet soprano voice. Also Eponine
who does not sing but understudies Cosette.
OLIVER!
Auditions may be held again at Christmas for teams to rehearse in
February and play through for 6 months. We concentrate mainly on
boys and I severely limit the number of girls that we see so
please only suggest your best girls. There are 50 children in
each performance. We will see boys from out of London i.e non
commutable as we have a flat for Olivers and Dodgers and, in
exceptional circumstances, Fagin’s gang boys. All must sing well
and must be maximum 5 foot tall. Children can be aged between 8
to 13 but all boys voices must be unbroken. Under no
circumstances will I see girls from out of London even if they
have relatives in London.
LES MISERABLES QUEENS THEATRE

based only.

THE LION KING – Cub School
Auditions in January. Height limit 4‘ 9 and dark skinned only – I
must have a photograph please. All must be commutable to London.
Children will come into a cub school initially which trains
children once a week for a few months – then they audition for
the show having had the benefit of time with the show’s resident
director.
